KIEV, Aug. 12 - The Cabinet of Ministers is mulling the possibility of imposing a quota of five million tons on wheat and barley exports, Volodymyr Klymenko, the president of the Ukrainian Grain Association, said.
"According to recent discussions in the government, a quota of five million tons (the total volume for both types of grain) was considered, without taking into account exported grain. It is not planned to impose a quota on corn exports, as it is too early to estimate losses when harvesting maize. Along with this, a final decision has not been made," he said at a press conference in Kiev on Thursday.
