KIEV, Aug. 12 – Yuriy Sukhov, the lawyer for Anatoliy Makarenko, former head of the State Customs Service, has requested the questioning of representatives of the Russian gas giant Gazprom with regard to a criminal case into causing damages to the Ukrainian state in connection with a ruling of the Stockholm Arbitration Tribunal.

"I believe that without their questioning, it is impossible to investigate this case objectively. And if they are not questioned, I will reckon that the defendants' guilt hasn't been proven. The investigation is biased because it does not clear up the role of Gazprom in this case," he said at a press conference in Kiev on Thursday.
