Journal Staff Report

KIEV, Aug. 12 – Ukraine will fulfill the recommendations of the World Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) so as to prevent the national reserves of Sofia Kyivska and Kiev Pechersk Lavra being put on the List of World Heritage Sites in Danger, said Yakiv Dikhtiar, First Deputy Head of the State Service for Cultural Heritage.

"There are several clauses in a resolution [of the 34th session UNESCO committee] that the international community has laid down. And the country is to fulfill these clauses, and by February 1 to submit information on the state of Sofia and Lavra," Dikhtiar said.
