KIEV, Aug. 10 – Electricity consumption has grown by 25% due to high temperatures in Ukraine, First Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Kliuyev said at a meeting with heads of regional state administrations held in Kiev on Tuesday.
He said that thermal power plants are working at full capacity, consuming over 100,000 tons of coal every day.
"This slows the pace of coal accumulation at thermal power plant's warehouses to cover coal shortages in winter. The situation should be urgently improved," he said.
