KIEV, Aug. 10 - Since receiving from the International Monetary Fund the first, 1.25-billion-SDR tranche of a new stand-by credit, Ukraine now owes the Fund 8.25 billion SDR ($12.66 billion) and is the world's second largest IMF debtor.
Romania owes the IMF 9.03 billion SDR and Hungary 7.64 billion, the Fund said in a statement.
At the start of August, Ukraine accounted for approximately every fifth dollar of debt to the Fund under standard credit programs worldwide.
