KIEV, Aug. 9 – Peat fires have been registered throughout the territory of Kiev region, the Emergencies Ministry said on Monday.
Firefighters are currently extinguishing a fire on 0.6 hectares of peat bog in the village of Rakivka Vyshgorod district, 0.35 hectares of peat bog in the vicinity of the village of Ozera, Borodianka district, and on 0.4 hectares in the village of Hostomel, Irpin district, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, two peat bogs fires on areas of 0.3 hectares and 0.5 hectares have been discovered near Darnytsia heat power plant in Kiev, the State Forestry Committee reported on Monday.
