KIEV, July 25 ??“ President Viktor Yushchenko on Monday tried to rescue a political coalition backing the government less than two weeks after the coalition had nearly collapsed under a wave of mutual accusations.

Yushchenko joined a meeting behind closed doors with Cabinet ministers and key lawmakers seeking to reconcile them after a bitter clash earlier this month.
