KIEV, Aug. 3 – The National Electricity Regulatory Commission has increased the ceiling price on natural gas for industrial consumers and budget-funded organizations by 9.8%, to UAH 2,187 per 1,000 cubic meters (VAT, extra charges, transportation and supply tariffs not included).
The increase in the gas price, effective August 1, was stipulated in NERC resolution No. 1009 of July 30, 2010.
Volodymyr Semenets, the head of the commission's department for price and tariff policy of the oil and gas complex, said that the growth of the price ceiling is linked to the increase in the world price of oil, which is one of the components of the price of imported gas bought from Russia.
