KIEV, July 29 – The National Bank of Ukraine has proposed that the capital of Ukrgasbank and Bank Kiev, which are under control of the government, be increased by the end of this year.

"The NBU sent a letter to the Ukrainian Finance Ministry, where the central bank proposed to consider an increase in the regulatory capitals of banks, of sums no less than those approved by the NBU, by January 1, 2011," reads an NBU letter, which has been sent to Interfax-Ukraine.
