KIEV, July 14 – In a move that may drastically increase powers of the president, President Viktor Yanukovych’s allies filed a petition to the Constitutional Court seeking to revoke the 2004 amendments to the constitution.

The petition, signed by 252 lawmakers, or almost the entire governing coalition, asks the court to find whether the amendments comply with the constitution, the court reported.
