KIEV, July 7 - Ukraine seeks to raise $6.5 billion over the next nine years to finance modernization of its natural gas transportation system, the Energy and Fuel Ministry reported Wednesday.

The money will go to replace gas pipelines, to upgrade compressor plants and other equipment, and to improve underground gas storage facilities, the ministry said.
