BRUSSELS, June 30 – The Council of the European Union has approved a EUR 500 million macro-financial assistance to Ukraine to help it overcome its financial crisis.

The decision was passed at the Council's meeting on agriculture and fisheries in Luxembourg on June 29.

"The Council adopted a decision providing macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the form of a loan facility with a maximum principal amount of EUR 500 million.
