LUXEMBOURG, June 15 – Ukraine vitally needs to continue its democratic development, based on the principles of respect for human rights, the supremacy of law and freedom of speech, said EU High Representative Catherine Ashton.

Speaking at a press conference in Luxembourg on Tuesday, following a meeting of the Ukraine-EU Cooperation Council, Ashton said that democratic development should involve the freedom of the press, freedom of assembly and reform of the judicial system.
