KIEV, June 11 – The United States Department of Agriculture has improved its grain harvest forecast for Ukraine in 2010 by two million tons, to 45 million tons, a level that corresponds to the 2009 harvest.
According to the USDA, in particular, the wheat harvest was improved from 19.5 million tons to 20 million tons, which allowed it to increase its export forecast in the next marketing year from seven million tons to 7.5 million tons.
The United States experts also improved the harvest forecast for fodder grain by 1.5 million tons, to 24.95 million tons through the improvement of the corn harvest by 1.5 million tons, to 13 million tons.
