ISTANBUL, June 8 - Ukraine is expecting the European Union to give a clear answer to the question as to which gas transportation route, South Stream or Nabucco, it supports, said Minister of Fuel and Energy Yuriy Boyko.
"Recently we have received reassurances from the European Union that they support, and their priority is, the Nabucco project. So we are not clear why certain EU members are signing contracts with Russia on the South Stream construction in conflict with the EU official stance. We put this question to our European colleagues and hope to get answers to it," the minister told journalists in Istanbul on Tuesday.
