KIEV, May 27 - Ukraine’s second-largest steel maker, Illich Steel, warned on Thursday that an undisclosed group of investors has been trying to stage a raider attack and to seize control over the company.

Illich said it is preparing an appeal to President Viktor Yanukovych asking to take measures that would prevent the seizure of the company.

“The company is drafting the appeal and the text will soon be made public,” Illich’s press service said in a statement.
