KIEV, May 20 – An investigation conducted by Ukraine into claims that Ukrainian fodder corn supplied to the European Union was contaminated with dioxin has proven the allegations were false, the Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry said in a statement.
"Corn contaminated with dioxin couldn't have gotten to Germany. Such statements are nothing but an attempt to publicly pin the blame," the statement quotes Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk as saying. "It's much easier to shift liability onto somebody else, who is much weaker, than to recognize one's own liability."
