KIEV, April 28 – The Ukrainian government has proposed to increase the excise duty on beer by 23.3%, the minimum excise duty on filtered cigarettes by 30.4%, the excise duty on wine by 10 times and increase duty on liquor and vodka, though by less than 10 times.
According to an explanatory note to the draft amendments to tax legislation (No. 6337), which was filed by the Ukrainian cabinet at parliament on Monday, the excise duty on beer would be increased from 60 kopecks to 74 kopecks per liter, and the excise duty on natural wine from 1 kopeck to 10 kopecks per liter.
