KIEV, April 9 – Ukraine energy watchers are saying they doubt that Russian-Ukrainian agreements on increasing Russian gas purchases could be reached without any reduction in the price of Russian gas for Ukraine.

Bohdan Sokolovsky, the former presidential envoy on energy issues, said at a press conference on in Kiev on Friday that he had doubts that the new leadership of Ukraine's energy sector and, in particular, the gas sector, could have accepted such terms.
