KIEV, April 8 – The modernization of the Ukrainian gas transport system (GTS) will significantly increase the profitability of natural gas transit, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at a meeting with Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt.

"A project on the GTS modernization will help provide Europe with gas by more than 100%," Azarov said, adding that as a result of the gas transport system's modernization, the pumping of gas across Ukraine will be the most profitable compared to other gas routes.
