KIEV, April 8 – The National Communications Regulatory Commission is to announce a tender to issue licenses for the use of the radiofrequency spectrum in the 2,100-MHz range to provide 3G mobile services in the UMTS/HSDPA standard no earlier than autumn 2010.
"The Ukrainian state radiofrequency spectrum center is again organizing scientific and research work on the conversion of the range. Soon, the issue of its financing will be settled. I think in autumn we'll be able to start organizing a tender using funds raised from the sale of licenses for the conversion," NCRC head Volodymyr Oliynyk said, speaking at the presentation of an annual report of the regulator in Kiev on Wednesday.
