KIEV, March 16 - Ukraine is preparing a proposal for the European Union to get involved in modernization of Ukrainian natural gas transportation network, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said Tuesday.

Azarov, at a meeting with Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira, the head of the European Commission office in Ukraine, said the modernization should make Ukrainian gas pipelines more competitive.
