KIEV, March 1 – Ukraine stopped commercial supplies of electricity from the Burshtyn Energy Island to Europe on March 1, Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan announced on Monday.

"The ministry did not receive bids from exporters and, of course, we face a shortage of coal," he said.

He said that electricity exports to Eastern Europe could resume from April if there were bids from exporters.
