Negligence, deliberate arson may have caused fire at the Zaporizhia NPP
KYIV, Aug 12 – The probable cause of the fire at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) could be the negligence of Russian occupiers or deliberate arson, but no violations of safety boundaries or conditions of safe operation have been detected, according to the state-owned Energoatom.

Creditors welcome Ukraine’s agreement on Eurobond Debt Restructuring
KYIV, Aug 12 – The Group of Creditors of Ukraine (GCU) welcomes the agreement in principle reached between Ukraine and its bondholders (ad hoc creditor committee) on Eurobond Debt Restructuring Terms, according to a posting on the website of Canada's Department of Finance.

USDA increases 10.8% forecast for Ukraine’s wheat to 21.6-mln mt
KYIV, Aug 13 - In its August report, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) increased the forecast for the wheat crop in Ukraine in the 2024/2025 marketing year (MY, July 2024/June 2025) by 10.8% - to 21.6 million tons, and exports - by 7.7%, to 14 million tons.

Ukraine borrows foreign currency loans faster than hryvnia loans
KYIV, Aug 13 – The growth rate of foreign currency loans to legal entities in July for the first time since October last year exceeded the growth rate of hryvnia loans: 1.8%, respectively, to $6 billion and 1.1%, to UAH 557.57 billion, according to statistics from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
