Alfa-Bank Ukraine shareholders say may just donate bank to Ukraine

KYIV, Oct 14 – The shareholders of Alfa-Bank Ukraine confirm their readiness to capitalize it by $1 billion, however, in the event of a decision by the government or the National Bank on the need to transfer control in the bank to the state or another shareholder, they are ready to donate its shares, according to a letter from co-owner of the bank Mikhail Fridman to NBU Governor Andriy Pyshny.


Canada signs guarantee on EBRD’s EUR 300-mln loan to Naftogaz

KYIV, Oct 14 - Canada has signed the first special guarantee in the amount of EUR 36.5 million as part of a EUR 300 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provided to Naftogaz Ukrayiny.

EBRD mulls new lending program for Ukraine to back renewable energy

World Bank sees Ukraine’s economy accelerating growth to 3.4% on year in 2019

KYIV, Oct 16 – The World Bank, taking into account the results of H1 2019, has improved its forecast for gross domestic product (GDP) growth in Ukraine in 2019 from 2.7% to 3.4%, expecting that it would accelerate to 3.7% and 4.2% in 2020 and 2021 respectively.


HeidelbergCement to replace 15% of conventional fuel with alternative

KYIV, Oct 15 – Private joint-stock company HeidelbergCement Ukraine (Dnipro), which owns Kryvy Rih, Kamiansky and Amvrosiyivka cement plants, seeks to replace conventional fuel in production of cement by alternative by 5-15% in five years, the company has told Interfax-Ukraine.

KYIV, Oct 12 – Resolution of the National Commission for the State Regulation of Energy, Housing and Utilities Services (NCER) No. 556 dated June 26, 2018 on the reduction of feed-in tariffs for households by 6.3% took effect on October 12.


Ukrainian govt mulls canceling limits for defense equipment profit margins

KYIV, Oct 12 – The Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine predicts the annulment of the limits for cost-effectiveness for defense products at 1% for spare parts and 20% for other costs, which are in effect now in defense industry, under the proposal of the Defense Ministry by the end of 2018.
