KIEV, Nov. 17 – Ukraine cut electricity exports by 51.8% or 3.424 billion kWh year-over-year in January-October, to 3.191 billion kWh, the Fuel and Energy Ministry announced.

The halving of supplies is mainly linked to a decision made in late 2008 to replace Ukrainian electricity on the domestic market with electricity generated at the Moldavskaya GRES power plant in Transdnestria, the ministry said.

The Justice Ministry has registered a resolution of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission on the 35% increase in the selling prices of gas for households starting Dec. 1.
