Kiev's Artem-Bank declared insolvent by National Bank of Ukraine

KIEV, Nov. 16 – The National Bank of Ukraine has declared Artem-Bank (Kiev), which in late September 2016 ranked 69th in terms of assets (UAH 528.84 million) among 101 Ukrainian banks, insolvent, NBU Deputy Governor Yekateryna Rozhkova said.

Ukraine balance-of-trade surplus reported down 12.4% through Sept. 30

KIEV, Nov. 17 - The surplus of Ukraine's balance of foreign trade in January-September 2015 was estimated at $3.24 billion, falling by $460 million or 12.4% year-over-year, the State Statistics Service reported.


Ukraine's money supply narrowed 3.5% in October, according to NBU

KIEV, Nov. 14 – Money supply in Ukraine in October narrowed by 3.5% (since the start of the year it has grown by 5.5%), to UAH 959.3 billion, monetary base decreased by 5.4% (from the beginning of the year has increased by 8.3%), to UAH 991.9 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.


Centrenergo to buy 509,000 tons of Russian coal at $80 per ton

KIEV, Nov. 13 – Centrenergo energy generating company reported it has struck contracts to buy 509,000 tons of Russian coal at a price of $80 per ton (without transportation costs) by the end of the current year in connection with the coal deficit of A- and T-grade coal in Ukraine.
