Ukraine delays restart of nuclear power unit as $160-mln repair continues

KYIV, Dec. 17 - Ukraine will delay for at least one month the restart of a nuclear power reactor whose malfunction in August has already cost the country $160 million in repairs, Energoatom officials said Tuesday.

NBU hikes refinancing rate to 14.5% to prevent inflation risk

KYIV, Dec 14 - The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has raised the refinancing rate from 13.5% to 14.5% per annum from December 15, 2017.

According to a press release of the NBU, the board of the central bank made the decision on December 14.


ERU imports 70-mil cu m of gas from U.S. to Ukraine via Poland

KYIV, Dec 15 – ERU Group, a private energy trader, imported around 70 million cubic meters of gas from the United States to Ukraine via the Swinoujscie LNG terminal in Poland, the co-owner of the group, Andriy Favorov, said.
