Ukraine’s liquefied petroleum gas market up 8.4% on year in 2017

KYIV, Jan 18 – The Ukrainian liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) market in 2017 grew by 8.4% compared to 2016, to 1.578 million tons, according to the A-95 consulting group (Kyiv).


DTEK, GE sign contract for 200MW wind power project in Ukraine

KYIV, Jan. 18 - Ukraine’s largest privately held energy group DTEK has signed a deal with General Electric to supply 26 wind turbines with capacity of 3 MW each for construction of Prymorska Wind Power Plant in the Zaporizhia region, the group reported Wednesday.


UAE port operator reported interested in concession at Yuzhniy

KIEV, Jan. 18 – DP World (the United Arab Emirates, UAE), an international port operator, is showing its interest in a concession at the Yuzhny port in Ukraine. The company is ready to invest in improvement of logistics of Odessa port, head of the National Investment Council, former head of Presidential Administration of Ukraine Borys Lozhkin visiting the World Economic Forum in Davos wrote on his Facebook page.


Naftogaz Ukrayiny balks at $5.6 billion Gazprom take-or-pay clause tab

KIEV, Jan 18 – Ukraine’s energy company Naftogaz Ukrayiny on Wednesday refused to pay a $5.32 billion bill from Gazprom for allegedly breaching a take-or-pay clause in a gas supply contract in 2016.

Gazprom sent the bill on Tuesday seeking to charge for gas not taken by Naftogaz in 2016 under the take-or-pay terms of the 10-year contract.


GfK Ukraine: Consumer confidence at highest level since summer 2014
