Kiev’s Bank Tavrika trying to get UAH300-500 million NBU bailout

KIEV, Dec. 19 – Bank Tavrika (Kiev) is holding talks on the attraction of refinancing worth UAH 300-500 million from the National Bank of Ukraine, reads a press release of the initiative group of depositors, referring to acting Bank Tavrika Chairman Mykola Klinkov.


Finance ministry reports limited success on domestic dollar bonds

KIEV, Dec 19 - The Finance Ministry on December 16 held its first auctions offering dollar-denominated government domestic loan bonds (OVGZ). It met 18 bids with annual yield ranging from 8% to 9.3%.


Moody’s lowers Kiev and Kharkiv debt outlook, citing ‘deterioration’

KIEV, Dec. 16 - Moody's Investors Service has changed to negative from stable the outlooks on the B2 foreign and local-currency issuer ratings Kiev and Kharkiv, according to an agency report.

"The outlook change reflects the Ukrainian economy's limited recovery in 2011 and its likely deterioration going forward due to adverse global economic conditions.


Mobile operators ask Lytvyn to reject 5% service surcharge bill

KIEV, Dec. 16 – Mobile operators Kyivstar, MTS Ukraine and Astelit have sent a joint letter to Parliamentary Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn calling on Parliament not to consider a bill on introduction of an additional 5% duty for services of mobile operators for transfer to the Pension Fund.


EBRD may provide EUR300 million to EnergoAtom for safety upgrades

KIEV, Dec. 16 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development could provide financing of up to EUR 300 million to EnergoAtom for safety upgrades alone, reads a bank report.

The report says that the project is pending final review by the bank's board at a meeting on September 18, 2012.


EBRD to invest up to EUR100 million in Lafarge Aggregates equity

KIEV, Dec. 16 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is to provide an equity investment of up to EUR 100 million to Lafarge Aggregates Eastern Europe, a regional holding vehicle to be created by Lafarge SA to manage the existing quarry and distribution operations in Ukraine and pursue further developments in Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, Belarus and other selected EBRD countries of operations.


Hyundai Corp. to supply 10 high-speed trains to move Euro 2012 guests

KIEV, Dec. 16 – The State Rail Transport Administration, also known as Ukrzaliznytsia, and Hyundai Corporation (South Korea) have signed a contract for the supply of 10 high-speed trains that will be used to transport Euro 2012 guests.

KIEV, Dec. 17 - Bogdan Corporation has signed a memorandum on cooperation with Germany's Viseon Bus (the Neoplan buses), which foresees the organization of the production of buses for airports at the Lutsk-based facilities of JSC Bogdan Motors, primarily under the state order for buses for the host cities of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship.
