Ukraine boosts grain exports last week, but pace lagging from last year
KYIV, May 19 - For the period from May 1 through May 19, 2022, Ukraine exported 643,000 tons of grain crops, while the export rate increased: for the week from May 12 to May 19, 344,000 tons were delivered to foreign markets, while for a week and a half of this month (from May 1 through May 12) this figure amounted to 299,000 tons, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported.

Naftogaz reports UAH 12-bln profit in 2021 vs. UAH 19-bln loss in 2020
KYIV, May 19 – A consolidated net profit of Naftogaz Ukrayiny for 2021 amounted to UAH 12.023 billion versus a net loss of UAH 19.002 billion in 2020.
According to the reports published on the Naftogaz website, its sales revenue last year grew by 36.5% compared to 2020, to UAH 217.384 billion, and total revenue by 13.5% (by UAH 25.962 billion), to UAH 218.979 billion.

Ukraine must resume excise tax on petroleum products, analyst argues
KYIV, May 19 – The return of the excise tax on petroleum products, which was canceled by the Verkhovna Rada along with the reduction of VAT from 20% to 7% in March this year, will increase tax revenues to the budget and allocate additional funds to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Director of the A-95 consulting group Serhiy Kuyun has said.

Chornobyl shelter facility contributed to higher density of neutron flux
KYIV, May 20 – The increase in the density of the neutron flux in the Shelter facility occurred after the installation of confinement over the facility, which led to a change in the moisture conditions in the fuel containing materials due to the cessation of atmospheric precipitation into the facility, the Ukrainian Nuclear Society (UNS) reported on Wednesday.

Lawmakers suggest VAT exemptions for electric vehicles thru end-2028
KYIV, May 20 – A number of MPs offer exemption from payment of value added tax (VAT) and import duties from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2028 for equipment and components intended for internal production of electric vehicles (passenger cars, electric buses, electric trucks and special vehicles).
