Antonov Bureau working to modernize equipment used in An-70

FARNBOROUGH, July 17 – Antonov Design Bureau is working on the full modernization of the equipment used in the An-70 military transport aircraft, the bureau's General Designer, Dmytro Kiva, told journalists during the Farnborough 2008 international air show.


An-124-100 Ruslan jumbo jets to supply 18 NATO and EU members

FARNBOROUGH, July 17 - The Antonov An-124-100 Ruslan jumbo jets of Ukraine and Russia will continue strategic cargo transportation for 18 NATO and EU member countries under the NATO "SALIS" - Strategic Airlift Interim Solution program, Ruslan International Director General Valeriy Gabriel told Interfax at the Farnborough Air Show on Thursday.


Ukraine’s real GDP growth slows to 5.4% in June, down from May’s 7.2%

KIEV, July 17 – The growth of Ukraine's real gross domestic product slowed to 5.4% in June year-over-year, down from 7.2% in May and 6.7% in April 6.7%.

As the State Statistics Committee reported, this reined in GDP growth over the first six months of 2008 to 6.3%, while in the first five months GDP grew by 6.4%.


System Consulting ZRt denies selling electricity below state level

KIEV, July 18 – Hungary's System Consulting ZRt has denied a statement by the former Ukrainian fuel and energy minister, Yuriy Boiko, that the Ukrinterenergo state company exports electricity at prices lower than the prices set by the state for Ukrainian consumers.

Agricultural analysts cut harvest forecasts in wake of drought

Ukraine cuts GDP energy intensity by 1.3% in first half of 2007

KIEV, July 19 – Ukraine’s GDP energy intensity in January through June was 0.75 kilograms of conventional fuel per UAH 1, which is 1.3% less than in the first half of 2006, according to the informational and analytic department of the National Agency of Ukraine for Efficient Use of Energy Resources.


UkrGaz-Energo pays govt fine imposed by Antimonopoly Committee

KIEV, July 19 – Ukrgaz-Energo, a joint venture of national JSC Naftogaz Ukrayiny and Switzerland's RosUkrEnergo AG, has fulfilled a resolution of the Antimonopoly Committee of June 21 and transferred a UAH 300,000 fine to the national budget.


SPF announces tender for stake in national insurance company

KIEV, July 19 - The State Property Fund on Wednesday announced a tender to sell a 25%+1 share stake in Oranta national insurance company at the initial price of UAH 80 million, according to an official report in the Vidomosti Pryvatyzatsiyi newspaper.
