Ireland's Ryanair to invest $1.5-bln in Ukraine within five years

KYIV, Nov 20 – Ireland's low-cost airline Ryanair plans to invest $1.5 billion in Ukraine in three to five years, expanding its fleet to 15 planes and passenger traffic to 5 million people, Ryanair Chief Commercial Officer David O'Brien said at a meeting with President Petro Poroshenko on Tuesday.

Ukraine may soon cancel electricity incentives for ferroalloy plants

KIEV, Nov. 20 – Ukraine's National Commission for Energy and Housing and Utilities Services Regulation (NCER) may soon decide on the cancellation of incentives applied in electricity exports and electricity purchases by ferroalloy plants, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Prodan said.


Industrial output continued decline in October, government reports

KIEV, Nov. 18 – Industrial production in Ukraine fell by 4.9% in October compared to October 2012, which was better than in September 2013 and August 2013, when the decline in industrial production was 5.6% and 5.4% respectively, the State Statistics Service reported on Monday.

KIEV, Nov. 19 – A Ukrainian next-generation An-158 regional passenger aircraft, which is owned by Cuba's Cubana de Aviacion, is undergoing trials in Latin America at the request of potential customers on the regional market, Antonov State Enterprise announced on Tuesday.


Austria's Raiffeisen Bank denies plans to sell Ukrainian subsidiary

KIEV, Nov. 19 - Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI, Austria), the parent company of Raiffeisen Bank Aval (Kiev), has denied reports it plans to sell the Ukrainian subsidiary.

"RBI currently does not intend to sell Raiffeisen Bank Aval, and, accordingly, we have not made such a decision," the Austrian bank said.


Chief nuclear regulator proposes 10-yr reactor licensing scheme

KIEV, Nov. 20 – Olena Mykolaichuk, head of Ukraine's State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate, has proposed that 10-year licenses be issued with the further possibility of extending service life of reactors of nuclear power plants.

"In many European countries the projected term is announced, but the license is issued every 10 years," she told reporters in Yuzhnoukrainsk (Mykolaiv region) on Monday.
