EnergoAtom purchased $600 million of nuclear fuel in 2012, says govt

KIEV, Feb. 20 - EnergoAtom in 2012 bought fresh nuclear fuel worth a total of $600.334 million.

According to the State Statistics Service, the supply of Russian fuel to Ukrainian nuclear power plants by TVEL (Russia) in monetary terms last year totaled $555.355 million.

Foreigners interested in Ukraine military products, says minister

KIEV, Feb. 20 – Foreign countries are showing interest in the products of the Ukrainian defense industry, Defense Minister Dmytro Salamatin said.

"Potential arms importers currently show interest in Ukrainian defense products. However, Ukraine is unlikely to maintain its position on the world market of arms and military equipment without creating conditions for manufacturing competitive domestic products, and increasing funding into research and development work," the newly-appointed defense minister said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
