Naftogaz-Gazprom claims add up to $50 billion, says Naftogaz CEO

KIEV, April 20 – The total amount of mutual claims by Ukraine's Naftogaz Ukrayiny and Russia's Gazprom lodged with the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce is about $50 billion, Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolev said.

KIEV, April 20 – Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has lowered its long-term counterparty credit rating on Ukraine's PrivatBank to 'CCC-' from 'CCC'.

The outlook is negative, S&P said in a statement.

The 'C' short-term counterparty credit rating was affirmed.

Ukraine electricity output reported down 12.8% y-o-y in 1st quarter

KIEV, April 20 - Ukraine's integrated power grids decreased electricity output by 12.8% or by 6.578 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) year-over-year in Q1, to 44.745 billion kWh, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry reported.


Industrial production fall slowed to 21.1% in March, government says

KIEV, April 21 - The decline in Ukraine's industrial production in March slowed to 21.1% from 22.5% in February, and 21.3% in January, the State Statistics Committee reported on Monday.


State-run Ukreximbank asks LPN holders for 7-year maturity extension

KIEV, April 21 – State-run Ukreximbank suggests that the holders of the bank's loan participation notes (LPN, or notes) worth $750 million maturing on April 27, 2015, prolong the ultimate maturity term for seven years with the payment of 50% of principal amount on April 27, 2019, and another 50% in six equal six-month tranches on April 27, 2022.


Alfa-Bank acquires Bank of Cyprus (Kiev) for EUR202.5 million

KIEV, April 18 – Shareholders in Alfa-Bank (Kiev) on April 17, 2014 finalized a deal with Bank of Cyprus Group on the acquisition of 99.77% stake in Ukraine's Bank of Cyprus (Kiev) and the credit portfolio issued by the group to Ukrainian borrowers, the press service of Alfa-Bank has reported.


Japan to loan $1.5 billion for aeration station and other projects

KIEV, April 18 – Japan will provide a loan of $1.5 billion to Ukraine to realize a range of projects, including $1.1 billion to modernize the Bortnychi aeration station in Kiev, the Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Ministry reported.
