Ukraine to finance budget deficit in 2021 without bank debt purchases

KYIV, Sept 18 – Ukraine will be able to finance the 2021 budget deficit at UAH 270 billion, or 6% of the GDP, without asking state banks to purchase government Treasury bills due to refinancing from the central bank, Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko said.

Ukraine’s economy contracted 11.4% on year in Q2, govt reports

KYIV, Sept 21 – The fall in the gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine in April-June amounted to 11.4% compared to the same period in 2019, the State Statistics Service reported, confirming its preliminary assessment published in the middle of August.


Ukraine’s gross external debt rises 2.1% on quarter to $122.8-bln in Q2

KYIV, Sept 21 – Ukraine's gross external debt in April-June amounted to $122.8 billion, which is $2.5 billion (or 2.1%) more than a quarter earlier and by $1.1 billion (or 0, 9%) than at the beginning of the year, according to a posting on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) last week.
