KIEV, Nov. 21 – Criminal proceedings have been instituted in Moldova on charges of non-compliance with court ruling and an order has been issued for the arrest of president of the Ukrainian state-run enterprise National Nuclear Generating Company EnergoAtom Yuriy Nedashkovsky, according to the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia Ukraine (Mirror Weekly) newspaper. |
NBU directs Ukrainian banks to beef up client identification
KIEV, Nov. 21 – Banks should demand information to specify data regarding identification of clients, assessment of their financial state and the core of their activities, taking into account the level of risk defined under an internal bank program on money laundry risk assessment and management, the National Bank of Ukraine said in a letter to banks. |
Net currency inflow will help support hryvnia, says NBU official
KIEV, Nov. 21 – The net inflow of foreign currency to Ukraine registered in January-October 2011 at some $12 billion provides for the proper support of the hryvnia exchange rate and points out the groundlessness of talks around coming devaluation, according to Serhiy Korablin, the director of the department for analysis and projections on the monetary and credit market at the National Bank of Ukraine. |
Naftogaz deficit may hit UAH15 billion this year, Ukrainians tell IMF
KIEV, Nov. 18 – Naftogaz Ukrainy’s deficit in 2010 may hit UAH 15 billion, reads a draft memorandum by the Ukrainian authorities seeking the second tranche of a loan from the International Monetary Fund.
