Turboatom to upgrade and supply three Russian nuclear plants

KIEV, July 22 – Kharkiv-based OJSC Turboatom, the only producer of turbine equipment for hydroelectric, heat and nuclear power plants in Ukraine, plans by late July to sign an agreement to upgrade and supply equipment for reactor three of Rostov nuclear power plants in Russia.


Metinvest Holding to sell two air separating units to Air Liquide

KIEV, July 22 – Metinvest Holding plans to sell two air-separating plants installed at Azovstal steel mill and Yenakiyeve Steel Mill (both Donetsk region) to France's Air Liquide Company for EUR 100 million.

The French company is to supply technical gases on outsourcing terms to the two mills.


Consultant forecasts stable Kiev office rent through year end

KIEV, July 22 – Rent rates on offices in Kiev, in the absence of a hryvnia devaluation and a considerable worsening of the macroeconomic situation in the country, will remain stable until the end of 2009, a managing partner at CB Richard Ellis international consulting company, Roman Tsurkan, said.

KIEV, July 20 – Boryspil International Airport has received a UAH281.56 million regular tranche of a loan issued by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation.


Aviant aircraft plant to issue UAH858 million of guaranteed bonds

KIEV, July 20 – The Industry Ministry has authorized state-run Aviant aircraft plant to issue UAH 858 million of bonds secured by government guarantees.

The bonds, worth UAH 1,000 each, will be issued in two series: the total face value of the A-series bonds will be UAH 515 million, that of the B-series bonds will be UAH 343 million, reads the bond issue prospectus placed in the information disclosure system of the State Commission for Securities and the Stock Market.


Ukrenergy Holding authorized to acquire Polish electricity supplier

KIEV, July 21 – Swiss-based Ukrenergy Holding AG, 52% of which belongs to state-run electricity exporter and importer Ukrinterenergo, has been authorized to acquire Zomar Spolka Akcyjna (Chelm), which supplies electricity in Poland and which has been a long-term importer of Ukrainian electricity.


AeroSvit Ukrainian Airlines to sign regional aircraft agreement

KIEV, July 21– AeroSvit Ukrainian Airlines expects by the end of the year to sign an agreement on the supply of 10 regional aircraft, its director general, Aron Mayberg, told the press on July 18.

"This would be this year for sure," he said.

He said that the company selected aircraft made by Brazil's Embraer.


Capital investment in communication companies down 32% in H1

KIEV, July 21 – Investment in the main capital of companies that work in the communications sector in January to June was around UAH3 billion, which is 32% less year-over-year, according to a report of the State Communications Department of Ukraine on July 18.


Eurocar reports 47.8% increase in 2008 Volkswagen production

KIEV, July 21 - Solomonove-based Eurocar, which assembles Volkswagen Group cars in Ukraine, - assembled 19,664 vehicles in January to June 2008, which is 47.8% or 6,360 cars more than in the same period last year, the company reported.
