Ukraine’s energy sector gets through ‘worst’ period, acting minister says

KYIV, Feb 23 – Ukraine has passed a critical period in the energy sector in the current heating season, avoiding restrictions on energy consumption, and has all the resources for further stable energy supply, Acting Energy Minister Yuriy Vitrenko said.

Ukrainian steel firms ask govt to extend for 5 years scrap metal exports duty

KYIV, Feb 23 – Ukrainian steel companies asked the government to extend the export duty on ferrous scrap in the amount of EUR 58 per ton for another five years, or even tightening restrictions on the export of scrap metal up to its complete ban to normalize the situation with the provision of this raw material to domestic enterprises.


Swiss ROSEN to conduct in-line inspection of Ukraine’s gas pipelines

KYIV, Feb 22 – The Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) has signed an agreement for in-line inspection services of main gas pipelines in Ukraine with ROSEN Europe B.V., a part of Swiss ROSEN Group, the company said in a press release on Monday.
