PM: Ukraine ready to start energy talks with Sumitomo, Mitsubishi

KIEV, April 21 – Ukraine's government is ready to start discussing financial issues in the energy sector with Japan's Sumitomo and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said at a meeting with the Japanese corporate representatives in Kiev on Tuesday.


Ukraine metal consumption down 53.9% in Q1, reports trade group

KIEV, April 21 - Metal consumption in Ukraine fell 53.9% to 1.1 million tons in the first quarter of 2009 compared to the same period of 2008, while imports plunged 81.6% to 102,860 tons, Andriy Fedoseyev, president of the Ukrainian Metal Traders Association, told Interfax.

KIEV, April 23 – The Antimonopoly Committee has permitted LMK-Bogdan Ltd., in the Kiev region settlement of Vasylkiv, in to buy a share in the statutory fund of Kiev-based Ukrainian AvtoHolding Ltd., which would give it over 50% of the votes in the company's governing body, according to a committee report.


Boryspil car plant reports UAH4.8m 2007 loss, down from UAH4.6m gain

KIEV, April 23 – Boryspil car plant in Kiev region, part of the Etalon Corporation, saw a loss of UAH4.835 million in 2007, while in 2006 the company's net profit was UAH4.6 million, according to a company report on the holding of a general meeting of its shareholders scheduled for June 6.
