Troubled coal mine completes flooding of explosion-damaged section

KIEV, Dec. 21 - Ukraine’s biggest producer of coking coal, the Zasiadko mine, completed flooding with a section that had been damaged by a series of powerful methane gas explosions a month ago, a source in the emergency situations ministry said Friday.

Ukraine to secure Kazakh coal imports by sea after Russia blocks railroad

KYIV, Nov 22 - The Energy Ministry and power generating company Centrenergo are working on securing imports of coal from Kazakhstan by sea, bypassing the railways blocked by the Russian Federation, Minister of Energy Herman Haluschenko said.
