IFC $200 million financing providing Naftogaz with money to buy gas
KIEV . Nov 22 – The project under which the World Bank Group's International Finance Corporation ( IFC ) would provide financing of up to $200 million for a period of one year to Naftogaz Ukrayiny to buy natural gas by from large European suppliers remains in effect and its implementation depends on the needs of Naftogaz, IFC Regional Manager in Ukraine and Belarus Rufat Alimardanov said. |
NBU exempts foreign credits from interest rate control rules
KIEV, Nov. 23 – The National Bank of Ukraine has made an exception of the general rules of controlling the rates of foreign credits of loans if resident borrowers (both companies and financial institutions) raise funds from nonresident creditors with the participation of export-credit agencies. |

Ukrtatnafta to refine 300,000 tons of Azeri oil at Kremenchuk
KIEV, Nov. 23 – Ukrtransnafta, a monopolist in oil transportation in the country, has announced that Ukrtatnafta (Kremenchuk oil refinery, Poltava region) won a tender to refine around 300,000 tons of Azeri light oil at Ukrainian oil refineries in the fourth quarter of 2011 and the first quarter of 2012. |
SBU security service announces drive to remove ‘parasitic’ officials
KIEV, Nov. 21 – The Security Service of Ukraine has announced a drive to remove corrupt officials from state agencies.
"We want to eliminate certain corrupt links, which parasitize on the state agencies system," an employee of the SBU's main department for fight against corruption and organized crime, Pavlo Kuzmenko, said. |
Ukraine consulting with Turkey on gas tanker passage through Bosporus
ISTANBUL, Nov. 23 – Ukraine is holding consultations with Turkey on technical issues regarding the passage through the Bosporus Strait by gas tankers to the country's future LNG terminal, Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Serhiy Korsunsky said in Istanbul on Tuesday at a presentation of the Ukrainian projects. |
