Ukraine’s retail sales increase 6.3% on year in January

KYIV, Feb 22 – Retail trade turnover in Ukraine in comparable prices in January increased by 6.3% compared to January 2018, the State Statistics Service reported.

According to its data, in January 2019 retail trade turnover compared with December 2018 decreased by 23%.

Ukraine suspends upfront natural gas payments following Gazprom glitch

KIEV, Feb. 24 - Ukraine suspended all upfront payments for supplies of Russian natural gas following Russian gas giant Gazprom’s failure to deliver ordered and prepaid gas over the past two days, Naftogaz reported Tuesday.

Naftogaz ordered supplies of 114 million cubic meters of gas both, on February 22 and February 23, but the Russian company had only delivered 47 million cu m and 39 million cu m, respectively.

Donetsk confectionary factory halts operation as Russian trade tanks

KIEV, Feb. 21 – Work at Mariupol confectionary factory (Donetsk region) was stopped in February, the Roshen Corporation has reported.

The corporation said the factory was stopped due to politically motivated complications with the foreign trade relations of Ukraine.
