Uber launches Uber Green service in Ukraine, company reports

KYIV, March 21 – Uber has launched the Uber Green service in Ukraine.

"We start with 200 cars, completely electric, not hybrid ones. And of course, this is just the beginning. We expect that by the end of April, 10,000 Kyiv residents will take advantage of Uber Green," a representative of the company said at a press conference devoted to the launch of the service in Kyiv on Thursday.


Ukraine’s venture to increase uranium ore output 2.5 times by 2021

KYIV, March 21 – State enterprise Nuclear Fuel plans to increase uranium ore production at Novokostiantynivska mine (Kirovohrad region) by 2.5 times, to 500,000 tons per year, which, in turn, will allow doubling production of uranium oxide by 2021, to 701 tons/year, the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has reported.


Ukrainian rocket company declines to comment as Russia deal collapses

KYIV, March 21 – The Ukrainian state-owned enterprise Makarov Pivdenny Machine Building Plant Pivdenmash (Yuzhmash, Dnipro) does not have official information regarding the possible severance of a contract which was concluded with S7 Sea Launch in 2017 for the production of Zenit launch vehicles (LV) to resume launches from the Sea Launch maritime launch platform, the plant reported.


Ukraine’s economy expands 3.3% on year in 2018, up from 2.5% in 2017

KYIV, March 21 – The real gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine in 2018 grew by 3.3% after raising by 2.5% in 2017 and by 2.4% in 2016, the State Statistics Service has stated.

KIEV, March 24 – Ukrainian Sea Port Authority and M.V. Cargo have signed an agreement on the realization of two partnership projects on building a grain terminal at the Yuzhny seaport.


Kiev to spend UAH25.6 billion to upgrade infrastructure through 2018

KIEV, March 23 - Kiev plans to upgrade transport infrastructure in 2016-2018, spending about UAH 25.6 billion on this purpose.

Upgrades are contained in the action plan for 2016-2018 on implementing the strategy of Kiev's development until 2025, which is stipulated in order No. 100 of Kiev City State Administration, dated February 26 and published in the Khreschatyk newspaper on March 23.

KIEV, March 24 – The National Bank of Ukraine has left Ukraine's GDP growth forecast at around 1% for 2016.

"The NBU anticipates that economic growth will continue restoring in 2016, but it will be rather moderate – around 1%," the central bank said.
