Ukraine prepares to sell major state assets at privatization auction
KYIV, July 23 – The State Property Fund (SPF) of Ukraine publicly presented the Large-Scale Privatization 2024 project on Tuesday and named its top five facilities: the four-star Hotel Ukraine located downtown Kyiv and Kyiv's Ocean Plaza shopping mall, the country's largest titanium ore producer United Mining and Chemical Company (UMCC), the Demurinsky Mining and Processing Plant for titanium and zirconium extraction, and the aerated concrete producer Aeroc.

EIB plans to issue EUR450-mln in new loan for Ukrainian energy sector
KYIV, July 23 – The European Investment Bank (EIB) Group is planning new loans totaling EUR450 million for Ukrainian energy investments, including the reconstruction of hydroelectric power plants and power grid infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks, as well as the restoration of district heating networks in Ukrainian cities.

EBA, AmCham, Ukrtyutyun ask Rada to support govt’s tobacco excise tax bill
KYIV, July 24 – The European Business Association (EBA), the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, and the Association of Tobacco Product Manufacturers Ukrtyutyun have appealed to the Verkhovna Rada to support the Cabinet of Ministers' version of bill No. 11090 on increasing the excise tax on tobacco products during its second reading.

Ukraine’s number of big farming holdings drop to 85 in 2018 from 93
KYIV, July 23 – The number of agrarian holdings in Ukraine declined from 93 to 85 in 2018, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UAC) has said.
According to the report, the aggregate land bank, which is processed by agroholdings, also decreased from 5.95 million hectares in 2017 to 5.62 million hectares in 2018. However, according to the association, it is more representative that the land bank of 15 largest companies also decreased from 3.3 million hectares in 2017 to 3.2 million hectares in 2018. |
Ukrainian ministry suggests changes to future WTO e-commerce agreement
KYIV, July 23 – A delegation from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade presented proposals for the text of a future World Trade Organization (WTO) agreement on e-commerce, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry reported on the results of a meeting of co-authors of a joint statement by WTO members in Geneva on July 15-17. |
