Economic slowdown brings February business vacancy rate increase

KIEV, Feb. 25 – The vacancy rate in business centers in Kiev in February grew more than eightfold compared to September 2008, reaching 25%.

The trend mainly affected A-class business centers located in downtown Kiev, according to a Concorde Development survey of the Kiev office real estate market.


WTO objections could stop 13% import surcharge, says business leader

KIEV, Feb. 25 – The effect of a 13% temporary extra charge on some goods imported into the country, which are listed in a law on amendments to some Ukrainian laws to improve the state of Ukraine's balance of payments in the wake of the international financial crisis, could be suspended if any World Trade Organization member objects, according to Anna Derevianenko, CEO of the European Business Association.
