Municipal heat suppliers owe UAH927 million to Gaz Ukrayiny
KIEV, Nov. 24 – The debt of municipal heat supplying companies to Gaz Ukrayiny for gas consumed since the start of the new heating season (from October 1, 2009) has exceeded UAH 927 million with a 19% level of payment, the company reported on Monday. |

Mikol Ltd. wins tender for UAH238 million Boryspil terminal project
KIEV, Nov. 24 – Kiev’s Mikol Ltd. has won a tender to design and build a terminal for budget airlines at the Boryspil state international airport.
According to the Transport and Communications Ministry, the project's value is UAH238 million, and the terminal is to be commissioned three months after the start of construction. |
UGA calls on authorities to take measures to stimulate grain exports
KIEV, Nov. 25 – The Ukrainian Grain Association is calling on the country’s authorities to take measures as soon as possible to stimulate grain exports, UGA President Volodymyr Klymenko said.
"We need to export at least 10 million tonnes of grain. If we don't this, then by July 1, 2009, we will have a reserve of 17 million tons, and this is a catastrophe,” he told Interfax-Ukraine. |
Ukraine’s economic growth won’t restart before 2010, say experts
KIEV, Nov. 25 – Ukraine's economic growth can restart no earlier than 2010, according to experts from the International Monetary Fund and World Bank.
According to a Dragon Capital Investment Company press release, which cites the participants of a phone conference organized by the company, IMF and World Bank experts are considering two scenarios of development for the macroeconomic situation in Ukraine.

Poltava Mining owner to spend $158 million to expand production
KIEV, Nov. 23 - Ferrexpo Plc, which owns 86% of Ukraine's top iron ore pellet producer Poltava Mining, has launched a $158 million project to expand production at the Horishne-Plavninske and Lavrikovske (GPL) deposits to about 32 million tons of ore per year by 2011 from the current 28 million tons. |
Naftogaz Ukrayiny delegation heads home from Moscow after tax fracas
KIEV, Nov. 22 - A Naftogaz Ukrayiny delegation headed by the company chairman Yevhen Bakulin had to interrupt talks on the gas supplies to Ukraine in 2008-2010, which were being held in Moscow, and return to Kiev due to the threat of the company's work being blocked by the tax authorities, according to a statement the holding issued on Thursday. |
