Chernobyl cleanup workers stage protest in Kharkiv’s Freedom Square

KHARKIV, Jan. 25 - About a hundred Chernobyl cleanup workers went on a protest at Freedom Square in central Kharkiv on Wednesday demanding that the provisions of the Ukrainian law on the status and social protection of citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster be observed.

TVEL, Westinghouse receive tender proposals for nuclear fuel plant

OVRUCH (Zhytomyr region), Jan. 25 – The tender commission at the Fuel and Energy Ministry to select a technology supplier and partner for the construction of a nuclear fuel plant has directed proposals to participate in a tender to Russia's TVEL and U.S. Westinghouse, Fuel Minister Yuriy Prodan told journalists during his working trip to Zhytomyr region.


Ukraine tied for fourth place in international space launch market

KIEV, Jan. 25 – Six Ukrainian-made missile carriers were launched on the international space service market in 2009, which helped Ukraine to be fourth along with China in the world's rating of space states, the National Space Agency of Ukraine announced.
