Ukraine’s power plants cut 5.5% consumption of coal in Jan-Apr

KYIV, June 25 – Ukraine's thermal power plants (TPP) and combined heat and power plants (CHPP) in January-April 2019 reduced coal consumption by 5.5% (or 516,500 tons) compared to the same period in 2018, to 8.856 million tons.


Ukraine increases natural gas stocks 48.7% to 13.2 Bcm through June 22

KYIV, June 25 – Ukraine from April 4 through June 22, 2019 increased natural gas stocks in its underground gas storage (UGS) facilities by 48.7% or 4.256 billion cubic meters (bcm), to 13.2 bcm, according to recent update from JSC Ukrtransgaz.


Ukrenergo warns about power blackouts on record high air temperatures

KYIV, June 25 – National Energy Company Ukrenergo has issued a warning about possible blackouts due to record-high air temperature.

"The energy system is facing a hazard to balanced electricity generation and consumption. A record-high air temperature and a peak power consumption of 17,935 megawatts have been registered in Ukraine in recent two weeks.
