Naftogaz Ukrayiny invites companies to participate in gas procurement

KIEV, May 27 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny on Friday invited companies to participate in natural gas procurement procedures. Gas will be bought in the period from June 20, 2016 through January 20, 2017 using a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.


Ukrhydroenergo reports 18.6% production rise through April 30

KIEV, May 30 – Ukrhydroenergo increased electricity production by 18.6% in January-April 2016 compared to the same period in 2015, to 3.115 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), the company reported.


Real wages reported up 7.6% year-on-year, down 3.9% last month

KIEV, May 30 - Real wages in Ukraine in April 2016 increased by 7.6% year-on-year while falling 3.9% from March 2016, the State Statistics Service reported.


Government to conduct antidumping probe of Russian chocolatiers

KIEV, May 30 – The interagency commission for international trade has ordered Ukraine's Economic Development and Trade Ministry to conduct an anti-dumping investigation into imports of some types of chocolate and other finished food containing cacao in the period of 2012-2014 made by Russia.


Vanco Prykerchenska asks court to recognize Stockholm arbitration

KIEV, May 28 - Vanco Prykerchenska Ltd. (the British Virgin Islands) has asked Pechersky District Court in Kiev to recognize the final decision of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (Sweden), which on December 28, 2012 approved an amicable production sharing agreement (PSA) on Prykerchensky deposit of the Black Sea shelf between the company and Ukraine.


Government resumes operation of commission to protect investor rights

KIEV, May 29 – The Ukrainian government has resumed the operation of the interagency commission for the protection of the rights of investors and preventing illegal seizures of companies, and upgraded its status, First Deputy Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov, who heads the commission, has reported.


Officials meet to discuss extension of Zaporizhia nuclear reactors

KIEV, May 29 – The State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate and EnergoAtom met at Zaporizhia nuclear power plant to discuss extending the life of reactor one and reactor two of the plant.

KIEV, May 30 – The State Property Fund, at a trading session on Kiev's Innex stock exchange on Wednesday, has sold state-owned stakes in five concentrating mills worth UAH 11.968 million.


Moody's continues negative outlook for Ukraine's banking sector

LONDON, May 30 - The outlook for Ukraine's banking system remains negative, unchanged since October 2009, Moody's Investors Service said in a new report published on Thursday.


Odessa Oil Refinery to accept batch of crude from sea in June

KIEV, May 30 – Odessa oil refinery, which is under control of VETEK Group, will accept a batch of crude oil from the sea in June.

"A batch of crude oil could be delivered to the refinery by sea in June," the group said.
